The Production Begins!

film.jpg

Producing any film is an undertaking of sheer creativity and ingenious. I can't stress how much planning goes into a film. You must plan, so much so, that the story is converted vividly onto film, and is easy to understand by an audience. The first and foremost part of any film is the script. It is the basis story that every other aspect of film making builds upon. Once a well written script has been teared apart and built better, you can move on to step 2: PLANNING, PLANNING, PLANNING! And I really mean PLANNING, such as wardrobe design, character look, character synopsis, set design, and story boarding. Once all that is taken care of, now comes the tedious process of building the sets. If your designs are well made, your set should come out exactly how you planned, maybe even better. Once the sets are finished, filming can finally commence. Make sure to get as much footage as possible. In the end you may use it. Once you have filmed every scene possible, plus ran through all the footage with the script in hand to make sure everything has been filmed, the even more tedious process of editing can begin. The technology today allows for quality and amazing movies to be produced. Through the use of Digital Editing tools, movies can easily be edited and improved. Now once the editing is done, you can sit back and relax.....JUST KIDDING, not yet! There's the whole premiere! You have to get the tux, find a red carpet, rent the theatre, make invitations, coordinate the event, get food, and actually show up! Okay, once that's taken care of, you can finally sit back and relax, knowing you have just completed something many haven't!

Here you can see the bridge columns erected, and below is the highway being attached. The meticulous process of building a miniature was quite evident throughout the production of the film.

A miniature of such immense size required a backdrop equal to it's scale. Painting was a painstaking process, but it worked and looked great!

The destruction of the bridge was also a heavily thought out undertaking. Small electrically charged explosive were used to blast the 2X4 columns, and the ingenuity of fishing line was quite evident in collapsing the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
